I hope everyone had a chance to rest during the holidays and start 2020 with energy and enthusiasm.

The spring semester is very critical for what we do as educators. It is “harvest time” so to speak for us, as our product: our graduates, will be ready for employment in industry. We need to ask ourselves these questions: Are all of our graduating students trained for today’s job search techniques? Do they have a professional resume? Do they know how to interview and present themselves professionally? Let’s help them get ready for the career they have been working so hard for. For assistance on this subject, please visit our webpage to schedule an online career preparedness workshop for your college.

At the same time, we need to make industry aware that this new talent is available for employment at the end of the semester. To this end, LASER-TEC has partnered with Photonics Spectra to promote all LASER-TEC colleges to the Laser-Photonics industry by featuring a member college every month. Please check the January edition that features Indian River State College, and make sure to send us your college’s information to feature in a future edition.

Wishing you all the best for 2020,
